Bob Smakula is a proprietor of Smakula Fretted Instruments in Whyte, WV, and holds a sizable collection of banjo heads that were illustrated by the banjos’ owners in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. A selection will be on view in Evansdale Library cases on the first and second floors. “From crude looking cartoons and graffiti to portraits by skilled artists, banjo head art has always been a fascinating part of my musical instrument collection,” said Smakula.
