OLD ENOUGH TO FIGHT, OLD ENOUGH TO VOTE: THE STRUGGLE FOR YOUTH VOTING RIGHTS IN AMERICA

2021 marks the fiftieth anniversary of the 26th Amendment, which lowered the voting age in the United States to eighteen. In this exhibition, we invite you to consider the history of the 26th Amendment within the contexts of youth activism and expanding voting rights.

Students in the Fall 2020 class HIST 412: Introduction to Public History designed this exhibition under the direction of Dr. Jennifer Thornton. Student co-curators include: London Bowen, Lakin Davis, Danny Dillon, Frank Fitch, Tyler Geisler, Andrew Hall, Brandon Johnson, Lyon Johnson, Julia Lopez, Billy Mays, Monessa McGaha, Jessica Mortko, Keen Owen, Dylan Richmond, Jack Swallen, and Gia Watt.
