Health Sciences Library, Fall 2026-Spring 2027
This exhibit highlights the impactful work of Maegan Casimir (PharmD Candidate, '26), who developed and led a multi-year interprofessional contraceptive education workshop to address critical training gaps in reproductive healthcare.
Maegan Casimir recognized a gap in contraceptive training across various healthcare curricula at WVU. In 2024, she created an interactive, interprofessional workshop to improve clinical knowledge and foster collaboration across healthcare disciplines.
By bringing together a diverse cohort of students and professionals, including those from pharmacy, medicine, nursing, and social work, the initiative fosters a collaborative space where participants gain clinical confidence through both didactic learning and hands-on experience with contraceptive devices. Through scholarly research and a commitment to sustainability, this project demonstrates how interprofessional collaboration directly enhances patient-centered care and prepares the next generation of healthcare providers to work as a unified team. Hosted by Art in the Libraries, this display serves to share the scholarship and creative endeavors of the WVU community with the broader academic region.
